Reiki Group Healing!
Our Gift for the month of February 09
We would like to take the time to introduce our new community service. Wake Up! Reiki will be hosting a Group Reiki Healing at Unity Church, Fort Collins on Saturday, February 21 at 3pm. Group Reiki is a guided meditative healing using Reiki energies as a catalyst for auric and emotional release. The session will be around 40 minutes long with time at the end for visiting. We are asking for a $20 Love Gift to help us with event expenses and to enable us to expand this beautiful service. We are planning on having this service monthly. You should bring a pillow, butan or yoga mat to sit on. We will have some chairs available for those that aren't able to sit on the floor. Relinquishing Control

I want to see email replies on how many people out there feel they MUST control every aspect of their life!! Do you feel like you must control other people and/or family members? If so, then why?

I want you to really dig into that question. Why do you or we feel like we must be in control? I mean realistically there is only so many variables in life that we can control. We have no control over if we have a car accident or not, right? We have no control over our Aunt Bettie's cancer right?

So why do we try so hard to control everything in our lives? What does this do to us or for us?

I'll tell you right now what it does to us. It causes unimaginable suffering and harboring of our histories forever. I had huge amounts of old family sufferings pulled out of me yesterday. I had abandonment issues from when I was 6 months old pulled out (paternal). That was there because on some level at 6 months old I thought I caused my Dad to not like me. Why? Because I thought I was in "control" of that situation. I turned his problem into my own and then "owned it". I turned my Mother's feelings of divorce into my own too. I had her divorce and her suffering from it stuck in me too. Again, why? Because somehow at 5 years old I just knew it had something to do with me because I was in "control".

I have been a control freak my whole life!! I have even sought to control others in my family. I have badgered with anger and bullied my poor Mom into doing stuff she knew wasn't right, how awful!! I have planned every waking moment down to the tee and then when my plan would get interrupted or abruptly changed, I would become soooo angry and pissed off that nobody could do anything right!! LOL Sound familiar?

Well that was a long time ago when I was in my teenage years and early twenties. I since have become older and wiser and I have relinquished control.

Now, I know you are wondering, relinquished control to who? Well, it's easy, I relinquished control of my life over to Spirit and higher power. I no longer tell Aunt Bettie what to do about her cancer. I just ask Spirit to intervene and heal her if that is the path, if not then I wish her happy passing and a better next life. I release my problems and concerns up to Spirit and let them take care of it. Because they know better than I do what the next best move is. I have faith that everything will always turn out just as it's supposed to, even if it looks like something cruel. There is always a lesson in every loss, you just have to look for it.

Since relinquishing control, my life is peaceful and serene. My blood pressure is never high and I don't yell at anyone. It's been truly amazing. I'm even able to keep my cool during high stress times in life, like now, I have a home in foreclosure. I just know that I need to learn my lesson from it (overextending) and get on down the road.

How do you gain this kind of composure? Well I just so happen to have another exercise for you!! LOL :)

I want you to think of the color of a ripe Sunkist orange. Make believe a pool of orange light is bathing your whole upper body, head neck and chest. I want you to breathe in orange light that contains surrender (letting go) and exhale black which contains control. Do it again, in orange and out black. One more time in orange and out black. Now look the mirror and say "I surrender to higher power and have faith that everything will work out for the best. Let go, let go, let go." Say that mantra three times in the mirror. Do this daily and see if you can't let go of control a little better and find some inner peace.
